Yesterday would have been my Mom’s birthday, so I decided to come up with a fly in her memory. I call it Mom’s Midge and it a very simple tie. I used a glass bead on a size #14 scud hook because I think the bend is sexy. Tie in some mallard for a small tail, add some silver wire and create a thread body. Counter wrap the wire forward, add some red tinsel, add some dubbing and pull back the mallard and whip finish. Trim the mallard to form a little wing bud. You can also eliminate the mallard and tinsel if you want. Looking forward to trying this thing in January. ~Drifter07
